Welcome,

We are a private homeschool located in Carencro, LA.  Our goal is to help our students reach educational summits in a homeschool environment.  Although we are modeled after a more traditional school setting, we strive for individualized learning, and a positive educational experience for our students and their families.  Parents who choose to homeschool their kids can hire us to be their tutors.   According to the Louisiana Department of Education, "A parent or tutor may be permitted to provide the instruction;  there are no teaching certification requirements."(louisianabelieves.com)

Mrs. Gretchen Donham founded Summit in August 2012 in her living room.  Since then, it has grown so much. In fact, we normally have a waiting list for admission!  SCA rents space in The Dance Place during school hours.

Mrs. Gretchen graduated from UL Lafayette in 1996, and taught in the public school system for 16 years before resigning to start SCA.  She teaches English, science, and an occasional elective at Summit.  She enjoys reading, spending time with her family, finding recipes on Pinterest that she'll probably never cook, and watching sci-fi.  She is married to David, and they have four children: Baylor, Nadia, Dawson, and Elanor.  They are members of Trinity Bible Church in Lafayette.

Mrs. Janie Myers graduated from UL Lafayette in 2005, and started teaching at a local private school in 2005.  Mrs. Janie joined the SCA family in 2014 as our math, Bible, and science teacher.   She enjoys reading, scrapbooking, painting, and spending time with her family.  She is married to Mr. Josh, and they have five children: Christopher, Nathaniel, Kayla, Ethan, and Anna.  They are members of The Family Church in Lafayette.

Mr. Josh Myers graduated from UL Lafayette in 2011, and has been teaching at a local private school since 2009.  We are blessed to have him join us at SCA for the 2018-2019 school year.  Mr. Josh will teach math, history, and electives. He is an accomplished musician, and is part of the worship team at his church.  He enjoys coaching, computers, and spending time with his family.  He is married to Mrs. Janie, and has the same five children that she does.
